Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue is a group of volunteers whose mission is “Rapid response to search and rescue missions”.
We provide an on-call search and rescue team, are certified through the Washington State Department of Emergency Management (DEM), and maintain an aggressive on-going training program, promoting safety and education in the outdoor environment.
About Us
Ground Search & Rescue Teams
All volunteers are trained in search tactics and pass fitness tests to assist in ground search and rescue operations.
K9 Teams
Certified handlers and canines are vetted through training and are deployed in a variety of search conditions.
Ropes Team
Ropes teams work hard to become certified in the field and are often deployed when technically challenging terrain is encountered.
Partner Teams
We are proud to have the help of many other partner teams in the area that are ready to assist at a moments notice.
Medical Teams
Our medically certified team members offer critical medical services in the field. We also often partner with Skamania EMS Rescue teams in the field.
Drone Team
Our licensed drone pilots train regularly to work and coordinate in challenging search environments.
E-Moto Team
Our E-Moto team trains for safe and effective use of electric motorized vehicles for quick searching on roads and trails.
